Food Service Coordinator (Richland)

Location: Richland Campus

Full or Part Time: Part-Time

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7am – 2pm

Hours: 28 hours per week.

Wage: $12.50 – $13.50 per hour.

Job Scope

The Food Service Coordinator is an integral part of the campus dining services, providing exceptional service to students, faculty, and staff. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety while supporting the educational environment through excellent customer service. This is a part-time position that will be scheduled to work from mid-August through mid-May.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  1. Maintain a clean and organized cafe environment, ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards.
  2. Provide friendly and efficient customer service, addressing any inquiries or concerns with professionalism.
  3. Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, managing the point-of-sale system.
  4. Assist in inventory control, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage of food items.
  5. Collaborate with the food service vendor to offer diverse and nutritious food options that cater to the campus community’s needs.
  6. Support campus events by setting up, serving, and cleaning up as required.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • A minimum of two years in a customer service position and experience with cash and credit card point of sale transactions is required.

Computer Skills:

  • Basic email and computer skills are required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Serv-safe certification is desired.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing.
  • Must be able to talk, hear and operate a computer and cash register.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Typical cafe environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  • This is a part-time bargaining unit Support Staff position.
  • All newly hired staff employees will serve a probationary period of three (3) months. During the probationary period, employees will be required to demonstrate fitness for the position.
