Location: Blair Center

Full or Part Time: Full-Time

Annual Salary: Low to mid $30,000’s plus generous benefits package.

Job Scope

The Student Services Coordinator provides support for the Center in the areas of Admissions and Student Services. Reporting to the Center Director, the Coordinator assists with all aspects of admissions processes and procedures including meeting with prospective students and conducting visits with high schools. The position is responsible for developing a network of recruiting opportunities in traditional and nontraditional recruiting environments at all locations. These efforts should generate inquiries, applications, and enrollment. Local travel throughout the region that the College serves is required for this position. This role provides crucial support to the Blair Center by delivering information, guidance, and direction to visitors, students, and staff. Responsibilities include directing phone calls to the appropriate offices, ensuring accurate processing of messages and requests, and managing front desk operations. The position will serve as the first point of contact for new and current students and will be responsible for ensuring consistent front desk coverage.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  1. Recruits prospective students from traditional and nontraditional environments by various means including personal meetings, phone calls, mailings, presentations, and scheduling group tours at the Center.
  2. Represents the College at various recruitment events in a knowledgeable, friendly, and professional manner.
  3. Serving as a back-up for clerical support for all admissions functions and procedures, including but not limited to data input and creating and maintaining student files.
  4. Greets and responds to prospective students, answers incoming phone calls, and redirects phone calls appropriately, and handles routine inquires (including webpage chat) from visitors, students, faculty, and staff.
  5. Develops and maintains voicemail messages for Blair phone lines while ensuring messages always remain current, including holidays and emergency situations/closings.
  6. Coordinates and evaluates all recruitment strategy and planning within the assigned area and completes activities required to accomplish recruitment and enrollment goals.
  7. Networks with other organizations, agencies, and businesses to plan, coordinate, schedule, and conduct informational meetings and other recruitment activities.
  8. Assists with the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and continual improvement of effective plans for recruiting in traditional and nontraditional environments.
  9. Provide academic advising support, and career counseling to Center students and potential students.
  10. Maintain systematic and frequent contact with Center students, high school guidance counselors, and high school teachers, and maintain detailed records of contact.
  11. Conduct outreach to students in all stages of the admissions and enrollment process.
  12. Assisting with development of student activities and services and helps to implement these activities, as needed.
  13. Assist in opening and closing of the Blair Center location as needed.
  14. Responsible for front desk coverage.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a goal-oriented position with responsibility for recruitment, admissions, sales, and/or customer relations.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Working knowledge of a variety of Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn College specific programs.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Criminal Background Clearance
  • Valid Driver’s License

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to type, write, handle, or feel; to reach with hands or arms; and to stoop or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
