Rank: Rank is governed by the Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement & is dependent upon qualifications, years of teaching experience, and/or relevant professional experience.
Salary: Salary is governed by the Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement via a Salary Step System & is non-negotiable. In addition to the base salary, there are opportunities to earn additional compensation plus a generous benefits package.
The CAO will determine the rank for newly hired faculty members per the rules of the Faculty CBA & placed on a salary step within the determined rank, but no higher than step 6 for any rank. Rank & associated salary step ranges up to step 6 for the 2025-2026 Academic Year are outlined below:
- Instructor: $43,134 – $44,741
- Assistant Professor: $45,009 – $49,027
- Associate Professor: $49,296 – $53,314
- Professor: $53,582 – $58,671

Primary responsibilities include teaching courses as prescribed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. May be assigned to teach online or virtual modalities and at any College location. Other professional responsibilities include implementing approved and/or current curriculum development, staying current in the discipline through involvement in professional development activities, and otherwise supporting the mission of the College by engaging in service activities.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Teaches the assigned courses in qualified discipline(s) per the published course schedule.
- Participates in curriculum development and evaluation and/or updates including course assessment activities.
- Provides academic support to students.
- Maintains a schedule of office hours and communicates expectations and progress to students.
- Documents student progress by the timely submission of appropriate records and reports.
- Participates in college governance by serving on Faculty Senate, division, and College committees as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
- Participates in the hiring, and course orientation of new faculty through participation on assigned search committees.
- Develops and maintains relationships with community and regional stakeholders including Program Advisory Committee members and regional employers, as appropriate.
- Participates in college and community service activities.
- Participates in professional growth activities and maintains awareness of new trends and developments within areas of instructional responsibility.
- Selects textbooks and supplementary materials (software, etc.) appropriate to the needs of students and course requirements.
- Attendance at all mandatory meetings.

Education:
- For courses which transfer to a four-year institution of higher education (e.g. general education), faculty must have earned a minimum of a master’s degree in the relevant academic discipline or a minimum of master’s degree in an unrelated discipline plus significant coursework in the related discipline.
- For courses that are generally not transferable to a four-year institution, including program classes found in terminal A.A.S. degrees or workforce education certificates, faculty are expected to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the relevant academic discipline and/or a combination of relevant education or training.
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field.
Experience & Knowledge:
- 2 years of teaching experience in postsecondary and/or vocational education preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population.
- Additional experience and knowledge may be required by specific programs.
- Familiarity with and/or experience with the following or related technologies:
- Cybersecurity (including Network Defense, Cloud Security, Ethical Hacking)
- IT Infrastructure, along with Object oriented programming languages, MySQL, and Linux.
- Employment experience in a related field is also preferred.
Computer Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with applicable PC hardware and software including the Microsoft Office suite, e-mail, and internet browser.
- Experience with a learning management system preferred.
- Additional computer skills may be required by specific programs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
- Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
- FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting (Act 114)
- Additional certificates, licenses, and registrations may be required by specific programs.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to write, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- The employee may occasionally have to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift no more than 20 pounds at a time, with frequent lifting or carrying of items up to 10 pounds.
